New Delhi: A day following AAP leaders’ initiation of the ‘Kejriwal ko Insulin Do’ movement outside Tihar jail, Delhi’s Chief Executive Arvind Kejriwal was administered insulin at Tihar prison after his blood glucose level abruptly escalated to 320, a day after the Delhi Chief Minister accused the Tihar penitentiary management of neglecting his insulin requisitions despite numerous appeals.
Nevertheless, the Tihar penitentiary management rebutted Kejriwal’s allegations, highlighting that during a video consultation with specialists from AIIMS, the insulin matter was not discussed.
“It is now evident that the Chief Executive was accurate; he necessitated insulin. However, the officials under the BJP’s central administration were intentionally withholding treatment. I ask you, BJP adherents! If insulin is not indispensable, why administer it now? It’s due to global disapproval,” remarked Delhi Minister and AAP advocate Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The AAP contends that the Tihar management concealed insulin from Kejriwal, claiming a conspiracy to jeopardize his well-being.
Atishi’s weighty accusation
Delhi Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) advocate Atishi asserted that subsequent to the court’s decree, it has been validated that Delhi’s Chief Executive and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal has been denied ample medical amenities in the prison.
“The pronouncement of Rouse Avenue Court confirms that for the past 22 days, Arvind Kejriwal was deprived of adequate medical attention in judicial custody at Tihar Jail,” she articulated. She further added that today, following 22 days of his judicial confinement, the court has directed the formation of a medical board comprising a specialist diabetes physician, a specialist diabetologist, and an oncologist to diligently oversee Arvind Kejriwal’s medical care.
