In Darbhanga, Bihar, a tragic incident unfolded during a wedding celebration, resulting in the demise of six individuals and injuries to six others due to a cylinder explosion. The calamity transpired amidst a fervent display of fireworks at the matrimonial event held in Antor village, within the jurisdiction of Bahera police station.
Prompted by the outbreak of a significant conflagration, the villagers in attendance promptly endeavored to quench the flames. Regrettably, the situation escalated when the inferno reached a nearby cylinder, triggering a powerful explosion. The ensuing blaze, stemming from the detonation, swiftly engulfed a reserve of diesel positioned at the household’s entrance. Among the casualties were six members of the household, alongside three bovine creatures, as confirmed by police authorities.
Upon receiving notification of the distressing event, law enforcement and firefighting units swiftly mobilized to the scene, effectively extinguishing the raging inferno. Subsequently, the police force commenced its investigation, dispatching the deceased individuals’ remains to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
Darbhanga District Magistrate Rajeev Roshan conveyed, “Upon receipt of the distressing news, the administrative apparatus promptly mobilized to extend support to the affected families. Tragically, six lives were lost, with an additional six individuals sustaining injuries in the tragic occurrence.”
“Furthermore,” continued the District Magistrate, “the loss extends beyond human life, as three bovine creatures also perished. A specialized investigative team has been assembled to probe the circumstances surrounding this incident, and appropriate measures will be instituted accordingly.”
