Prime Minister Narendra Modi lambasted the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday for the annulment of approximately 26,000 positions subsequent to a verdict by the high court, asserting that the young populace of West Bengal has borne the brunt of the party’s “slash-and-siphon” ethos, which has become synonymous with corruption.
During an electoral gathering in Malda, the PM underscored the plight of the youth, who, coerced by TMC figures, resorted to taking loans, thereby being ensnared in this predicament. “The TMC engages in illicit practices, causing detriment to the populace of the state. The party has been gambling with the prospects of Bengal’s youth,” he remarked.
“The episode of teacher recruitment fraud has deprived nearly 26,000 households of their livelihood,” he elaborated. Earlier this week, the Calcutta High Court invalidated the selection procedure for the State Level Selection Test-2016 (SLST) in government-backed and assisted schools in West Bengal, decreeing the nullification of all appointments stemming from it.
“Under the TMC’s governance, one thing reigns supreme – embezzlements totaling in the thousands of crores. The perpetrator is the TMC, yet the entire populace is compelled to bear the consequences of its duplicity,” he declared. Rebuking both the Congress and the TMC for propagating falsehoods regarding the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Modi affirmed that the legislation “is centered on granting citizenship rather than depriving it.”
“A race to curry favor is underway between these two factions. The Congress seeks to appropriate your possessions, with the TMC maintaining a deafening silence on the matter. The state administration is endeavoring to resettle Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bengal, while the Congress espouses the notion of redistributing your wealth among them,” he added.
