In the heart of New Delhi, the Delhi Police initiated a legal proceeding on Sunday following a grievance by the Ministry of Home Affairs concerning the manipulated recordings of Union Home Minister Amit Shah disseminated across social media platforms, as relayed by officials.
The Special Cell has formally initiated a First Information Report (FIR) under diverse sections of the Indian Penal Code along with pertinent statutes of the Information Technology Act, as indicated by sources. Insights from within the Special Cell hint at forthcoming detentions nationwide.
In line with the complaint tendered by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), certain manipulated recordings are being disseminated on social media platforms with the “objective of fomenting discord among communities, potentially disrupting public serenity and order.”
Per the plaintiff, accompanying links to the shared recordings were furnished for further remedial action. A duplicate of the FIR was additionally dispatched to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Cyber Police.
In response, Amit Malviya, spokesperson for the BJP, asserted that the Telangana Congress was propagating a spurious recording, entirely counterfeit and possessing the capability to instigate widespread unrest. Malviya appended, “Home Minister Amit Shah articulated a stance on the eradication of unconstitutional quotas designated for Muslims, predicated on religion, post the reduction of allocations for SCs/STs and OBCs.”
