In the realm of Panaji, a communication regarding an explosive device at the Dabolim aerodrome in South Goa caused a flurry among officials on Monday, prompting a reinforcement of security measures on the premises, as relayed by a senior figure. In dialogue with PTI, the overseer of the aerodrome, S V T Dhanamjaya Rao, imparted that his office was in receipt of an electronic correspondence in the early hours pertaining to a hazardous object at the aerodrome.
“We are now exercising additional vigilance. Although there has been an elevation in security at the aerodrome, the operations of flights remain uninterrupted,” remarked Rao. The law enforcement in Goa was apprised of the situation through an official complaint from the aerodrome personnel, and a unit specializing in the disposal of hazardous items was conducting a thorough search of the vicinity, as disclosed by a police representative.
“We are leaving no stone unturned. Our actions adhere strictly to the prescribed guidelines,” he affirmed. The overseer of the aerodrome mentioned ongoing efforts to trace the origin of the electronic correspondence, which had also been directed to other aerodromes across the nation.
