In the midst of legal deliberations, the Supreme Court admonished the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority for its inertness regarding the case of misleading promotions entangling Patanjali Ayurved Limited.
Expressing discontentment with the rationale provided by the entity, a panel comprising Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah noted a conspicuous lack of proactive measures from the licensing authority, suggesting a tardy response to the court’s decree of April 10.
“Transparency and candor are paramount when addressing this court if one seeks empathy and leniency,” remarked the bench. The apex court emphasized its pivotal concern: whether the licensing entity executed due process as mandated by law. The panel has scheduled the next hearing for May 14.
During the proceedings on April 10, the apex court rebuked the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority for its passivity, asserting its firm stance against negligence, as the body seemed to have turned a blind eye with intent.
