Addressing a rally in Lakhimpur Kheri, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the opposition parties, particularly the INDIA bloc, accusing them of neglecting the Ram temple issue and threatening to hinder its progress if they come to power. Shah also targeted the Congress, SP, and BSP, alleging that they spread misinformation about the BJP’s stance on reservation and the Ram temple.
Shah referenced SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav’s dismissal of the Ram temple issue as “useless” and warned that if the opposition gained power, they might obstruct the temple’s development. He blamed the Congress for delaying the resolution of the Ram temple dispute and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for resolving it during his tenure.
On the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), Shah defended the BJP’s stance, emphasizing the need to provide citizenship to persecuted minorities from neighboring countries. He criticized Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav for opposing the CAA and asserted that it cannot be repealed.
Further, Shah questioned the leadership and policies of the INDIA alliance, ridiculing their lack of a clear prime ministerial candidate or coherent strategy. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral performance under Modi’s leadership, claiming significant gains in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
Lakhimpur Kheri is scheduled to vote in the fourth phase of the election, and Shah urged support for the BJP candidate while predicting a strong showing for the party.
