In the bustling streets of Kolkata, amidst swirling accusations of misconduct directed at the West Bengal Governor, CV Ananda Bose unveils a groundbreaking initiative. This pioneering program offers a unique opportunity for any resident of the state, with the exception of the Chief Minister and her entourage, to delve into the labyrinth of CCTV footage. All it takes is a simple email to the Governor’s office or a swift dial to the revered halls of Raj Bhavan.
“In light of baseless and contrived allegations hurled by certain quarters, Hon’ble Governor Dr. C V Ananda Bose introduces ‘SACH KE SAAMNE.’ This initiative is born out of necessity, as the sanctity of Raj Bhavan’s surveillance recordings is unjustly impugned by those pursuing an agenda,” reads the official proclamation shared via Governor Bose’s esteemed online presence.
“The Hon’ble Governor has deemed it fit that the CCTV archives be accessible to every denizen of West Bengal, save for the esteemed politician, Mamata Banerjee, and her law enforcement cohorts, given their stance as public knowledge,” it further elaborates.
Furthermore, the Governor articulates that those desiring an unfiltered view of the CCTV chronicles can reach out via email to adcrajbhavankolkata@gmail.com or governor-wb@nic.in, or simply ring the Raj Bhavan PBX at 033-22001641.
Earlier this week, the Governor rebuffed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s political maneuvers, decrying what he termed as “sordid politicking” and issuing a stern admonition against her perceived overreach. “In the face of the disparaging remarks directed at me, and by extension, the truth, I find myself compelled to address the unsavory nature of Mamata Banerjee’s political conduct. Her brand of politics reeks of foul play. Though I earnestly beseech the divine to guide her, such a task may prove daunting even for the Almighty. I categorically refuse to succumb to the ‘Didigiri’ imposed upon the esteemed office I hold,” Governor Bose emphatically declared during a press interaction.
Accusing the Chief Minister of embroiling him in the political quagmire, the Governor lamented what he perceived as a departure from her erstwhile virtuous character. “It pains me deeply that the Chief Minister has ensnared me in the web of politics, particularly amidst the electoral fervor. I have, on numerous occasions, spoken in glowing terms about the individual, Mamata Banerjee, and upheld the decorum of addressing her as my constitutional counterpart. Despite my reservations about her political methods, I have abstained from passing judgment,” Bose remarked ruefully.
