In the environs of Mysuru, nestled in Karnataka, the erstwhile Chief Minister, B S Yediyurappa, vocalized on Saturday the synchronized stance of the saffron party and JD(S) in contesting the imminent Legislative Council elections, slated for June 3. Amidst the fervor, he reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the BJP-JD(S) consortium despite the legal entanglements encircling the present incumbent Hassan MP, Prajwal Revanna, entwined in allegations of impropriety towards numerous women.
The youthful Prajwal, aged 33, endeavors to secure reappointment under the NDA banner in Hassan. However, he presently eludes authorities subsequent to the dissemination of a plethora of salacious recordings purportedly capturing his transgressions against several women. “Our accord with JD(S) remains unscathed by the Prajwal affair. Its integrity remains impervious to such events,” remarked Yediyurappa, exuding confidence in the symbiotic alliance.
Addressing the impending electoral fray for three graduate and three teacher constituencies on the aforementioned date, Yediyurappa articulated the collaborative ethos between BJP and JD(S). “Consortial discussions have delineated the JD(S) to vie for two seats, while the BJP endeavors to contest four,” he elaborated. Furthermore, he divulged that the unveiling of candidate nominations rests in the hands of the BJP’s national helmsman, J P Nadda.
Touching upon the Prajwal imbroglio, Yediyurappa underscored the BJP’s unwavering demand for the transfer of the case’s jurisdiction to the CBI. Presently, a Special Investigation Team, instated by the erstwhile Congress administration in Karnataka, spearheads the inquiry.
