In New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), unveiled ‘Kejriwal’s Pledge’ on Sunday, outlining ten urgent tasks, including the liberation of Indian territory from Chinese control, should the INDIA coalition come to power at the national level.
Kejriwal, who recently obtained bail and was released from Tihar jail, held a press briefing in the capital city on Sunday. Standing alongside Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Kejriwal emphasized the choice between ‘Modi’s Pledge’ and ‘Kejriwal’s Pledge,’ branding the latter as distinctive.
Regarding his commitments, Kejriwal stated, “I haven’t consulted with my INDIA coalition allies about this matter yet. However, I will urge them to honor these pledges.”
The opposition coalition, comprising parties such as AAP, Congress, Trinamool Congress, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, was established to counter the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the ongoing parliamentary elections.
Kejriwal further remarked that while AAP has delivered on its promises of free electricity, quality education, and neighborhood clinics in Delhi, “Modi has failed to fulfill his commitments.”
‘Kejriwal’s Pledge’ encompasses uninterrupted power supply, superior educational and healthcare facilities, and the creation of two million jobs annually for the youth.
“We have successfully managed to ensure round-the-clock electricity in Punjab and Delhi. Extending this achievement nationwide is feasible. Government schools nationwide are in dire straits, and we are equipped to elevate the standard of education across the board,” articulated the AAP leader.
The Delhi Chief Minister also pledged to abolish the Agniveer program and ensure that farmers receive Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce in accordance with the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.
“National Supremacy is our assurance. China’s incursion into our territory will be challenged, and we shall reclaim our sovereignty,” he declared. Kejriwal additionally committed to granting full statehood to Delhi.
“BJP accommodates individuals tainted with corruption into their ranks. We will publicly dismantle the BJP’s apparatus for laundering ill-gotten gains. Our objective is to institute a seamless environment for commerce and trade across the nation,” he affirmed.
Kejriwal, who faced arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy scandal, secured temporary release from the Supreme Court on Friday.
