In Bengaluru, Karnataka, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) authorities have apprehended two individuals linked to the dissemination of an indecent video purportedly associated with Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, as per insider reports disclosed on Sunday.
Following the registration of a case against Prajwal Revanna by the Karnataka Police, his political party, Janata Dal (Secular), has suspended him. Sources within the SIT reveal that Likhit and Chetan have been apprehended and are presently undergoing interrogation.
Of these individuals, Likhit is purported to be a close confidant of former MLA and BJP state general secretary Preetham Gowda. Intelligence suggests that Chetan serves as a member of his administrative team.
A complaint was lodged at the Hassan cybercrime station on April 23, alleging the rampant dissemination of indecent videos across various areas of the Hassan district. Subsequently, the Karnataka government reassigned the investigation to the SIT.
In connection to the dissemination of the video, the SIT task force operating in Hassan is apprehending those responsible for the dissemination of indecent material.
Furthermore, SIT sources indicate that efforts are underway to locate two additional suspects, Naveen Gowda and Puttaraju. Allegedly, Prajwal Revanna is currently overseas. Interpol has issued a Blue Corner notice against Revanna, who was once again nominated by the Janata Dal (Secular) for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has dismissed the possibility of a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the matter.
