In the urban precinct of Jamner within Jalgaon territory, a member of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) reportedly succumbed to self-inflicted demise on Wednesday, as disclosed by local authorities.
The departed individual, identified as Prakash Govind Kapade, aged 37, resorted to the extreme measure of self-termination by employing a service revolver, the incident occurring at approximately 1:30 am on the aforementioned day, as detailed by Dr. Maheshwar Reddy, the Superintendent of Police for Jalgaon, during a briefing with the press.
Prakash Kapade held the position of a sentinel at the abode situated in Mumbai, belonging to the renowned cricket luminary, Sachin Tendulkar, as conveyed by the aforementioned high-ranking law enforcement officer. Further, it was indicated that Kapade’s remains have been conveyed to the Jalgaon district medical facility for a thorough post-mortem examination.
Residing in Ganapati Nagar, Jalgaon, Kapade was assigned to Unit 8 of the SRPF, supplemented Reddy. Notably, Kapade leaves behind a spouse and two offspring.
The Superintendent of Police for Jalgaon articulated that the motive behind Kapade’s irreversible act remains obscured, with investigative efforts underway. “An inquiry has been initiated under the pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and following post-mortem procedures, the deceased’s remains shall be relinquished to his immediate kin,” appended the Superintendent of Police.
