In the locale of Imphal, a quartet of insurgents hailing from the proscribed faction, Kangleipak Communist Party (People War Group), encountered apprehension by a collaborative unit comprising Manipur Police and Assam Rifles within Thoubal district, as conveyed by an official on the day of Friday.
“Upon receipt of intelligence intimations concerning the presence of insurgents, a meticulously orchestrated operation was set into motion within the vicinity of Yairipok Bazaar, culminating in the detention of the insurgents on Thursday,” delineated the spokesperson representing law enforcement.
Enumerating the spoils obtained, the official detailed the confiscation of five cellular devices, coupled with two 9mm firearms, each loaded with 15 live rounds, alongside five missives of demand. Furthermore, a cache comprising twenty 5.56mm cartridges and four 7.62mm cartridges was successfully impounded from the possession of the apprehended insurgents. Additionally, law enforcement effectuated the apprehension of an active affiliate affiliated with the banned entity, KCP (Taibanganba) organization, within the precincts of Imphal West district, also on Thursday.
It transpired that the detained insurgent had been embroiled in the coercion of monetary tributes from establishments situated within the vicinities of Paona and Thangal bazaar within the confines of Imphal. It was disclosed by law enforcement that a single .32 caliber firearm, in conjunction with a complement of four live rounds of ammunition, was confiscated from the individual’s custody.
