In a retort to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement urging to take lessons from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on bulldozing, the Congress accused Adityanath’s approach of being anti-reservation towards Dalits, tribals, and backward classes. Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, pointed to an article on Adityanath’s website, alleging it mirrors the RSS’s stance against reservation policies.
Ramesh, expressing his stance in Hindi on X platform, highlighted, “Today, the departing Prime Minister suggested that INDIA should emulate Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s bulldozing tactics. But observe how Yogi’s approach contradicts the reservation system for Dalits, tribals, and backward classes!” He further implied Modi’s tacit support for Yogi’s views on reservation, linking it to his ‘400 paar’ (beyond 400) slogan aimed at potentially amending Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution to revoke reservation rights from marginalized communities.
Asserting that BJP’s agenda aligns with the RSS’s historical aspiration to dismantle Ambedkar’s Constitution in favor of a ‘Manuwadi’ ideology, Ramesh illustrated his point with excerpts from the contested article on UP CM’s website, cautioning its potential removal. Modi, during a rally in Barabanki, warned of Congress and Samajwadi Party’s hypothetical bulldozing of the Ram temple, while urging them to learn tactics from Adityanath. He further accused the INDIA bloc of fostering instability, likening their fate to a collapsing deck of cards as the elections progress.
