Unleashing a tirade against the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the wake of the Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal assault debacle, BJP President JP Nadda lambasted the AAP’s integrity, asserting that Kejriwal has been thoroughly unmasked before the public.
In a dialogue with ANI, Nadda decried the AAP as an entity erected on deceit, mirroring its leaders’ untruths. “The Aam Aadmi Party is constructed on falsehoods, its credibility not merely zero but in the negative. Kejriwal stands exposed before Delhi’s populace. His avowals of abstaining from politics, eschewing elections, forgoing official residences or convoys, and shunning alliances with Congress have all been shattered. His pledges against corruption and to uphold women’s respect were mere rhetoric. He established the party, contested elections, and forged alliances with Congress,” the BJP stalwart articulated.
Nadda further admonished Kejriwal for his incarceration over corruption charges, emphasizing his current provisional bail granted by the Supreme Court.
Criticizing Kejriwal’s reticence during a press briefing alongside Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Nadda remarked, “The incident transpired within his domicile, yet he remained mute. If this were a BJP conspiracy, why the microphone relocation?”
Upon Kejriwal’s arrival at the press event in Lucknow with Akhilesh Yadav, journalists pressed him on the alleged assault on Swati Maliwal. The AAP chief, however, evaded their inquiries.
When the subject arose during the press conference, Akhilesh Yadav dismissed it, stating, “There are more pressing issues.”
Nadda also spotlighted alleged misdeeds against women under the AAP’s tenure, questioning Kejriwal’s silence on the matter. “Why the silence on women’s disrespect? What inhibits you? Your actions are eloquent. The party’s culture is evident. Incidents of assault on the Chief Secretary and a woman within his home, who is a Rajya Sabha MP and party founder, reveal their depraved mindset. This reflects their ethos, exposing them entirely. The denizens of Delhi will render their verdict,” Nadda declared.
Responding to queries about Swati Maliwal seeking assistance from the BJP, Nadda clarified she had no contact with their party. “She never approached us. We have had no interactions. This is not our modus operandi. We are forthright. Misguiding others isn’t our style. Accusing the police when caught is ludicrous,” he stated, referencing the idiom “Ulta chor kotwal ko daantey.”
“They possess no integrity. Their party, its leaders, and even Kejriwal are devoid of credibility. They are capable of any low, making baseless accusations, yet they cannot evade accountability,” Nadda added.
The allegations by Swati Maliwal of an assault within Kejriwal’s residence by his personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, have ignited a political firestorm, with the AAP denying her accusations. While Maliwal insists she was attacked in Kejriwal’s home, Kumar alleges she is fabricating the incident, hinting at possible BJP involvement.
A Delhi Police contingent, led by Additional DCP Delhi North, Civil Lines Police Station SHO, and forensic experts, convened at the CM’s residence on Friday evening for a scene reconstruction. Maliwal was summoned as part of the investigation.
Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, also lodged a written complaint against Maliwal, alleging unauthorized entry, verbal threats, and insinuating potential BJP complicity.
