New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday exhorted the populace to cast their votes for transformation, emphasizing that the “festival of democracy” reaches its pinnacle only when democratic forces triumph over autocratic ones. He underscored that the final leg of the electoral process to safeguard the Constitution and democracy is currently in motion, with the INDIA bloc confronting despotic powers with valiance.
“The contest has reached its denouement. The citizenry has unwaveringly supported us throughout every phase. After six arduous phases, the electorate yearns for our victory,” Kharge proclaimed in a post on ‘X’. The populace desires the fulfillment of Congress’ assurances, he added. “This time, the nation has endorsed and aligned with ‘Yuva Nyay, Kisaan Nyay, Nari Nyay, Shramik Nyay, and Hissedari Nyay.'”
“This democratic celebration will be deemed triumphant solely when the democratic entities vanquish the autocratic ones,” the Congress leader affirmed. “Today, as you press the EVM button for 57 seats across 8 states and Union territories, contemplate the Preamble of the Constitution – ‘We the people of India,'” he conveyed in a Hindi post on ‘X’.
Kharge implored the electorate to consider the future of farmers, youth, laborers, women, Dalits, tribals, and marginalized communities. “Will you consign them to another quinquennial period of injustice, subjugation, and disparity, or will you forge a luminous, equitable, and just future for them?” he queried.
“The choice is yours. Bear in mind, if the Constitution endures, our fundamental rights remain intact,” the Congress chief remarked. Kharge also welcomed first-time voters, stating that young individuals casting their votes for the first time bear significant responsibility. He appealed for a substantial voter turnout. “By voting for change, we embark on an auspicious new beginning,” Kharge said.
