Venturing into his second and final day of introspection, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his morning with the solemn ritual of ‘Surya Arghya’ at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. This ritual, deeply intertwined with spiritual devotion, entails offering reverential salutations to the divine entity symbolized by the radiant sun.
With a ceremonial vessel reminiscent of tradition, the Prime Minister tenderly poured a modest quantity of water into the vast expanse of the sea, a symbolic gesture of homage (Arghya), while his fingers rhythmically traced the beads of his prayer necklace (Japa mala), an act of devout supplication, witnesses recounted. Clad in the vibrant hue of saffron, he also adorned the statue of Swami Vivekananda with fragrant floral tributes, a gesture steeped in reverence.
Amidst the ethereal beauty of Kanyakumari’s famed sunrise and sunset, the memorial stands as a testament to spiritual reflection, nestled on a minuscule islet by the coast. Within the sacred precincts of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the Prime Minister commenced his meditative journey on the eve of May 30, set to culminate on the dusk of Saturday.
