In the wake of purported derogatory utterances attributed to Suvendu Adhikari, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the legislative body known as the Congress vociferously demanded an unqualified expression of regret from him regarding his alleged commentary directed towards Rahul Gandhi. Additionally, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) denounced the deployment of vitriolic and disrespectful language in this context.
The West Bengal division of the Congress party has lodged a formal complaint with the police against Suvendu Adhikari, a prominent figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The complaint alleges that Adhikari made disparaging and offensive remarks aimed at Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader within the Congress party. This incident transpired during a discussion concerning the Congress party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ which commenced its journey from West Bengal into Bihar on Monday morning.
A purported video clip containing the alleged remarks made by Suvendu Adhikari has circulated extensively, sparking controversy and prompting the Congress party to initiate legal action. In the video, Adhikari is purported to have used derogatory language when referring to Rahul Gandhi.
“We have formally lodged a complaint with the police against Suvendu Adhikari for his disparaging and offensive remarks directed at our leader. Such conduct is unacceptable and tarnishes our reputation. We have urged the authorities to take prompt action,” stated Suvankar Sarkar, a prominent member of the state Congress party, as quoted by PTI.
Furthermore, the Congress party has demanded an unconditional apology from Adhikari. The police complaint was registered at the Siliguri police station in North Bengal. When approached for comment, Adhikari declined to provide a statement, according to PTI sources.

Several leaders from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) shared a video clip and criticized Suvendu Adhikari’s purported remarks, asserting that the use of abusive language toward political opponents should be discontinued.
