In response to the Election Commission’s recent decision acknowledging Ajit Pawar’s faction as the authentic NCP, Sanjay Raut, a Member of Parliament from Shiv Sena (UBT), took a dig at PM Modi’s assurance on February 07. Raut remarked that the Election Commission is well aware that Sharad Pawar is the party’s founder (NCP), yet Ajit Pawar was handed the reins – a testament to Modi’s assurance.
“Whether you possess MLAs or MPs, the repercussions for the party if these representatives lose in the upcoming elections are substantial. The entire decision appears flawed and prejudiced. Despite Sharad Pawar being acknowledged as the party’s founder, and the Election Commission recognizing this fact, Ajit Pawar was granted control – a manifestation of Modi’s assurance.”
In a significant blow to Sharad Pawar’s faction, the Election Commission, on February 06, resolved the discord within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in favor of Ajit Pawar’s faction. The electoral body has conferred the Nationalist Congress Party’s name and symbol upon Ajit Pawar’s faction, a consequential decision that will impact the upcoming polls.
