In the early dawn of Monday, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, graced New Delhi with his presence. This marks his inaugural official sojourn to India, where he is slated to share the co-chairmanship of the 10th India-Thailand Joint Commission assembly with the esteemed External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, at the stately Hyderabad House in Delhi, come Tuesday.
Randhir Jaiswal, the articulate Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, took to the platform ‘X’ to convey, “A cordial reception awaits! Deputy PM & FM @drparnpreeb of Thailand alights in New Delhi on his maiden official visit to India. He will preside over the 10th – Joint Commission Meeting alongside EAM @DrSJaishankar. Commencing his four-day official sojourn in India today.”
The itinerary unfolds with Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara scheduled for an audience with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday. The curtains draw on his four-day official Indian odyssey as he bids adieu on February 28.
It is noteworthy that the 9th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting transpired in the vibrant city of Bangkok on August 17, 2022, as per the pronouncement by MEA. In the period spanning from August 16-18, 2022, the erudite External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, embarked on a diplomatic visit to Bangkok, where he took on the co-chairing responsibilities for the 9th Meeting of the India-Thailand Joint Commission (JCM) alongside Thailand’s erstwhile Deputy PM, Don Pramudwinai.
Fast forward to February 8, a distinguished Thailand delegation, spearheaded by Senator Pikulkeaw Krairiksh, sought an audience with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at Parliament House. During the discourse, Birla extended tokens of remembrance and a copy of the Constitution of India to the visiting delegation. The Thailand parliamentary envoy explored the hallowed halls of the Indian Parliament, expressing a keen interest in potential investments and hoping for a reciprocal interest from India. Krairiksh also conveyed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during their visit to India.
