Inaugurating two pioneering initial connectivity initiatives of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) in Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil projects amounting to Rs 1,393.69 crore on Thursday. Aimed at expediting the coal evacuation process in an eco-friendly manner, the Coal Ministry declared this development on Wednesday.
The duo of projects from the subsidiary of Coal India Ltd is poised to bring about a streamlined mechanized coal evacuation from the mines, leading to a significant reduction in carbon emissions. Notable among the unveiled ventures are the Jayant OCP CHP-SILO and the Dudhichua OCP CHP-SILO. Boasting a robust capacity of 15 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA), the Jayant OCP CHP-SILO has materialized with an investment of Rs 723.50 crore.
Likewise, the Dudhichua OCP CHP-SILO, featuring a capacity of 10 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA), has been erected with a financial infusion of Rs 670.19 crore, according to an official statement. These initiatives are anticipated to herald a novel epoch of efficacy and sustainability in coal evacuation methodologies, concurrently curtailing both transit time and expenses. Consequently, this will augment overall productivity and profitability.
Furthermore, through the optimization of logistics and the mitigation of carbon emissions, these undertakings are poised to contribute to a more ecologically aware and environmentally conscious approach to the dispatch of high-quality coal and its subsequent distribution, as highlighted in the statement.
