In a notable proclamation on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Federal administration, led by Prime Minister Modi, orchestrated a noteworthy reduction of Rs 100 in the pricing of LPG cylinders. The Prime Minister personally conveyed this cost adjustment via his online social platform.
Addressing the public through X, PM Modi articulated, “On this Women’s Day, our Government has chosen to diminish the cost of LPG cylinders by Rs. 100. This strategic move aims to substantially alleviate the financial obligations burdening numerous households nationwide, with a particular emphasis on bolstering our Nari Shakti.”
He further expounded, “By rendering cooking gas more economically accessible, our objective encompasses providing support to families’ well-being and fostering a more salubrious environment. This aligns seamlessly with our steadfast commitment to empowering women and ensuring a seamless ‘Ease of Living’ for them.”
Recently, the government unveiled the extension of a subsidy amounting to Rs 300 per LPG cylinder for economically disadvantaged women under the Ujjwala Yojana, slated to continue for the upcoming fiscal year from April 1. It is noteworthy that back in October of the previous year, the central administration elevated the subsidy from Rs 200 per 14.2-kg cylinders, available for up to 12 refills annually, to Rs 300 per unit. The Rs 300 per cylinder subsidy was earmarked for the current fiscal period, concluding on March 31.
In his earlier communication on the day, PM Modi extended warm wishes to the populace on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He remarked, “We extend our commendations to the fortitude, valor, and tenacity demonstrated by our Nari Shakti, celebrating their achievements across diverse domains. Our government remains steadfast in its commitment to women’s empowerment, evident through initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, and beyond,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister further underscored that these endeavors are tangibly reflected in the government’s milestones achieved over the past decade.
