In the upcoming rendezvous of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur next week, pivotal contemporary matters such as the impending Lok Sabha elections, reported transgressions against women in Sandeshkhali, and the current scenario in Manipur are poised for deliberation, as per informed sources.
Set to commence on March 15, this three-day assembly will witness the electoral tussle for the coveted position of RSS General Secretary, the second-highest echelon within the organization, currently held by Dattatreya Hosabale. His tenure was secured following his election during the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha in Bengaluru back in 2021, spanning three years.
In the impending Nagpur congregation, the electoral agenda extends beyond the central hierarchy, encompassing the elections for the roles of ‘sanghchalak’ (chief) and ‘sarkaryawah’ (secretary) in the respective state units of the organization. Sunil Ambekar, the RSS national publicity and media in-charge, highlighted on March 1 that the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha would meticulously scrutinize the accomplishments and ‘sewa karya’ undertaken by the RSS volunteers and its myriad wings throughout 2023-24.
Anticipated discussions will delve into the comprehensive strategy of the Sangh for the fiscal year 2024-25, encompassing discourse on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the plight of women in Sandeshkhali, and the prevailing conditions in Manipur, per an authoritative source.
The Pratinidhi Sabha will scrutinize the ‘pravas’ (journeys) undertaken by the RSS chief and the organization’s volunteers in the current year. Deliberations will extend to the implementation of a novel ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg’ scheme devised for the training of ‘swayamsevaks’ (RSS volunteers), coupled with schemes for the augmentation of organizational endeavors and domains.
“The gathering will also address the Sangh’s preparations for its centennial jubilation in 2025-26. It will feature dialogues on the contemporary national landscape, and resolutions will be passed concerning pivotal matters,” the source affirmed. It is anticipated that a substantial contingent of at least 1,500 RSS volunteers and office-bearers from 45 ‘prants’ (units) will convene for the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the paramount decision-making entity within the organization.
Noteworthy dignitaries including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Hosabale, and all joint general secretaries will grace the event. Representatives from all 40 RSS affiliates, including Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), are slated to partake in this consequential gathering, sources added.
