In an astonishing occurrence recounted from Uttar Pradesh, a lady and her three-year-old progeny met their demise under the wheels of a swiftly moving locomotive subsequent to the woman’s precipitous plunge onto the railway tracks accompanied by her infant, allegedly prompted by a familial discord in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, March 13, as communicated by authorities.
The event was brought to attention in close proximity to the Reshu Vihar railroad crossing in the district on the aforementioned Wednesday evening.
A law enforcement representative articulated that Wednesday evening saw the conveyance of intelligence regarding the discovery of the lifeless forms of a woman and a three-year-old boy lying proximate to the residential enclave positioned between Reshu Vihar crossing of New Mandi Kotwali of Muzaffarnagar and the railway station.
Following the acquisition of this intelligence, personnel from the Civil Lines police station and New Mandi Kotwali police proceeded to the scene, and the identities of the deceased were ascertained. Mandi’s Chief Officer, Rupali Rao, indicated that Vinod, an inhabitant of Bhartia Colony, New Mandi, identified the woman as his spouse, Reetu Tomar, based on the garb adorning her form. The New Mandi Kotwali police facilitated the transportation of both cadavers for post-mortem analysis.
Initial inquiries have hinted at the woman’s leap onto the path of the moving locomotive owing to discord within her family circle. Authorities elaborated that the maternal relatives of the deceased inhabit Mohammadpur village in Haridwar, and they have been apprised of the incident. The woman’s husband is currently under interrogation in connection with the case. On prima facie examination, it appears that the woman opted for this drastic course of action as a consequence of familial discord.
The woman’s corpse bore grievous mutilations, while the child sustained cranial trauma. Law enforcement has affirmed that subsequent actions will be predicated upon the findings of the post-mortem examination.
