External Relations Minister S Jaishankar proclaimed on Tuesday that India in the contemporary era is not solely perceived internationally as “cordial and impartial” but also as a “resolute and impassioned” nation that prioritizes its populace and safeguards them during adversities.
Jaishankar articulated these sentiments while delivering a discourse on the subject “Evolved India @2047-The Echo of the Young” at an assembly hosted by Delhi University’s Hansraj college.
He alluded to the evacuation initiatives spearheaded by India to repatriate its nationals from conflict-stricken regions such as Ukraine. According to Jaishankar, “Evolved India” transcends being merely a motivational slogan; rather, it constitutes the groundwork laid over the past decade upon which the trajectory of India’s forthcoming 25 years will be charted.
“The subsequent 25 years of the ‘Nectar Epoch’ are in your hands. It signifies the odyssey towards ‘Evolved India,’ and it is you who will actualize this odyssey,” he articulated.
The external relations minister contended that he perceives these 25 years as “an epoch of prospects and novel trials.” “This metamorphosis is of a nature unprecedented in our annals,” Jaishankar asserted, accentuating the advancements witnessed in the economic and technological domains, as well as India’s standing on the global stage.
India has ascended as a global vanguard in technology, and its inaugural impression on the world was etched with the triumph of Chandrayaan-3 “achieved at a fraction of the cost of a cinematic production,” Jaishankar remarked, alluding to the nation’s expedition to the lunar South Pole.
Furthermore, he underscored India’s evolution into a digital economy, with cashless transactions amounting to 12 billion monthly, surpassing America where four billion such transactions occur annually. Jaishankar also addressed India’s zero-tolerance stance towards transnational terrorism, citing the example of the Balakot airstrike.
