In a concerted effort to spotlight the Kashmir quandary on the global stage once more, Iran and Pakistan, in their collective declaration, have intricately broached the Kashmir predicament, underlining the imperative to resolve it through pacific methods aligning with the regional populace’s volition.

The synchronized pronouncement was disseminated by both nations subsequent to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s inaugural voyage to Islamabad on Wednesday, April 24.

The co-statement declared, “Both factions underscored the necessity of unraveling the Kashmir conundrum through dialogue and harmonious methods, adhering to the regional inhabitants’ inclination, and in congruity with international jurisprudence.”

In concordance with the collective press release, cognizant of the unfolding dynamics on both regional and global fronts, both entities accentuated the significance of amicable dispute resolution via dialogue and statecraft to unearth mutually acceptable remedies to shared predicaments.

India has repeatedly emphasized that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir alongside the Union Territory of Ladakh are, and shall perpetually remain, integral and unalienable constituents of the nation, while urging foreign nations, especially Pakistan, to desist from interjecting on the matter.

President Raisi embarked on an official sojourn to Pakistan from April 22-24, upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation. He was accompanied by a distinguished entourage comprising the Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian, alongside other cabinet members and senior officials.

Prior to this, on Monday, Pakistan Premier Sharif raised the Kashmir topic and expressed gratitude towards Iran for its stance. Nevertheless, Iranian President Raisi refrained from broaching the subject of Kashmir.
