Regrettably, in a distressing incident, a TV presenter hailing from Dehradun and her sibling encountered a distressing ordeal on a thoroughfare in Roorkee, at the hands of two intoxicated individuals who were subsequently apprehended by law enforcement, as reported on Tuesday.
The distressing episode transpired during the nocturnal hours of Sunday in close proximity to Amanatgarh hamlet within the jurisdiction of the Buggawala police station, as the two siblings traversed from Dehradun to Roorkee by means of an automobile.
Inspector Manoj Sharma, presiding over affairs at the Buggawala police station, conveyed that a formal complaint was lodged by the aggrieved duo, leading to the apprehension of the offenders, Arjun and Shivam, hailing from Ismailpur village, on charges of molestation. These two perpetrators were subsequently presented before the court and have since been remanded to incarceration, divulged Sharma.
Evidently, the accused individuals had been tailing the presenter’s vehicle on a motorcycle for a duration of time. Upon nearing the vicinity of Amanatgarh village, they proceeded to overtake the vehicle and obstruct its path. Subsequently, upon confrontation by the two siblings, the perpetrators resorted to unruly conduct.
The complainants allege that the perpetrators vandalized the vehicle’s window and subjected them to molestation, further exacerbating the ordeal by physically assaulting them and causing damage to their attire. Through sheer fortitude, the two victims managed to extricate themselves from the situation and promptly reported the incident at the Buggawala police station checkpoint.
Upon receiving the distress call, law enforcement promptly dispatched personnel to the scene, resulting in the apprehension of one suspect. The other individual, who had initially absconded from the scene, was subsequently apprehended on Monday. Arjun and Shivam, the accused individuals, currently find themselves detained in a correctional facility, as confirmed by law enforcement authorities.
