Amidst the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, a disconcerting revelation emerged from the Mumbai Police. They divulged that an erroneous accusation had been levied against the esteemed actor Raveena Tandon at the Khar Police Station. The allegations ranged from inebriation to reckless driving and assault. Tandon, perturbed by these baseless claims, took to a social media platform, referred to as X, to shed light on the matter. She shared a snippet of a post from a paparazzi on the same platform, exposing the fallacious nature of the complaint. Through the examination of CCTV footage, it was discerned that Tandon’s vehicle had not collided with anyone, and she was not under the influence of alcohol, as alleged.

Per reports from a local Mumbai publication, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 discredited the complaint, labeling it as spurious. According to the DCP, an altercation ensued between Tandon’s driver and a family while maneuvering the car within the premises of a residential society. The confrontation escalated into a verbal spat, prompting Tandon’s intervention to protect her driver from the hostile crowd. Eventually, both parties visited the Khar police station to lodge complaints but later retracted them.

Further elucidating on the incident, DCP Rajtilak Roshan expounded, “The altercation escalated into a barrage of obscenities, drawing the attention of actress Raveena Tandon. She intervened to ascertain the situation concerning her driver. Despite her efforts to quell the conflict, she found herself on the receiving end of verbal abuse from the agitated crowd.” Subsequently, both Tandon and the aggrieved family opted not to pursue any legal action, as evidenced by their written statements submitted to the authorities.

DCP Rajtilak Roshan affirmed, “No injuries were sustained during the altercation, and the CCTV footage corroborates that the vehicle did not collide with any individuals. Additionally, there is no evidence to support claims of Tandon being intoxicated.” The Mumbai Police, as cited in a screenshot shared by Tandon, affirmed that neither party lodged any formal complaints.

The police statement emerged following the dissemination of a viral video depicting the altercation on various social media platforms. In the footage, Tandon can be seen imploring the crowd for restraint, accompanied by pleas of ‘don’t hit me.’ Despite her efforts to de-escalate the situation, the video captures the tumultuous scene as the crowd attempts to accost her and assail her driver.

Allegations of inebriation leveled against Tandon and her driver were refuted by the police as unsubstantiated. Furthermore, the authorities clarified that neither party sustained injuries nor were there any vehicular collisions. Consequently, no formal complaints were lodged by either party.
