Drawing inspiration from the extraordinary odyssey of this revered luminary, the film narrates the saga of Coach Syed Abdul Rahim, whose unwavering resolve and patriotic fervor infused the hearts of Indians with an indomitable sense of pride. Under the directorial tutelage of Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan emerges as a stirring sports drama, with Ajay Devgn essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, lauded as the mastermind behind the modern resurgence of Indian football. Anchored in the halcyon era of Indian football, spanning from 1952 to 1962, the narrative unfolds against a backdrop of tumultuous yet triumphant events.
