Manjummel Boys has gracefully surpassed the formidable Rs 100 crore milestone at the box office within a mere 13 days of its cinematic unveiling, a commendable accomplishment considering the expansive dimensions of the film industry. This cinematic creation, helmed by the adept Chidambaram, boasts an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Soubin Sahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, and Jean Paul Lal.

Taking to the realms of social media on the most recent Tuesday, the creators proclaimed the extraordinary achievement of Manjummel Boys, cementing its status as the quickest Malayalam film to amass Rs 100 crore in the annals of Mollywood. This remarkable feat was accomplished within a mere 9 days from the cinematic debut. It’s worth highlighting that in the previous year, the Tovino Thomas-led endeavor “2018: Everyone Is A Hero” achieved a comparable milestone in 10 days.

Inspired by authentic events, the film meticulously unfolds a riveting narrative of survival, with its focal point encapsulating Subhash, impeccably portrayed by Sreenath. Subhash finds himself ensnared in the abyssal depths of the renowned Guna Caves in Kodaikanal. A daring rescue expedition ensues, orchestrated by Subhash’s comrades and first responders, aiming to extricate him from the perilous confines of the subterranean caverns.

Manjummel Boys has not only garnered widespread acclaim from its audience but has also captivated the attention of esteemed filmmakers such as Anurag Kashyap and Venkat Prabu. Kashyap extolled the film’s assured narrative prowess, surpassing many opulent productions within the Indian cinematic landscape. Meanwhile, Venkat conveyed his sense of pride regarding the film’s triumph in Tamil Nadu, accentuating its universal appeal that transcends linguistic barriers.

Kashyap lauded the film’s assertive storytelling, eclipsing many grandiose cinematic ventures in India, commending the Malayalam film industry for its consistent delivery of avant-garde and compelling content. His commendation, detailed on the film diary app Letterboxd, expressed, “A truly extraordinary manifestation of assertive mainstream filmmaking. A narrative prowess far superior to the grandiose filmmaking prevalent in India. Such confidence, such narrative impossibility.”

Conversely, Venkat expressed his sense of pride in the triumph of Manjummel Boys within the precincts of Tamil Nadu, underscoring its capacity to resonate with audiences irrespective of linguistic barriers and conventional narrative trajectories.

The film, adorned with musical compositions by Sushin Shyam, cinematography meticulously curated by Shyju Khalidh, and precise editing helmed by Vivek Harshan, stands as a testament to the cinematic artistry championed by Babu Shahir, Soubin, and Shawn Antony under the banner of their cinematic venture, Parava Films.
