Ankita Lokhande, widely known for her role in the popular TV series Pavitra Rishta and her stint on Bigg Boss 17, recently graced the screens in the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar alongside Randeep Hooda. However, despite rumors suggesting otherwise, Ankita reportedly declined an offer to join Karan Johar’s much-anticipated Student of the Year 3. The role, though undisclosed, was supposedly offered to her. The decision behind her refusal remains a mystery, as stated by a source close to the actor.

According to the insider, Ankita politely turned down the offer from Karan Johar’s camp, citing personal reasons. “Yes, Ankita was indeed approached for Student of the Year 3. The specifics of the role offered are unclear, but she was extended an invitation to be a part of the prestigious SOTY franchise. Nonetheless, she declined the offer, leaving everyone wondering about her decision,” the insider revealed to a newswire.

Karan Johar is set to introduce Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, to the world of OTT with Student of the Year 3, reportedly slated for release on Disney+ Hotstar. Interestingly, Shanaya Kapoor’s debut won’t be with Karan’s Bedhadak but with Mohanlal’s pan-India blockbuster Vrushabha. Karan recently unveiled details about Student of the Year 3 at the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh, where he discussed the upcoming online series.

He mentioned, “Reema Maya will helm the digital adaptation of Student of the Year. However, it will carry her distinct touch, not mine. I believe stepping into Reema Maya’s creative realm will only enhance the allure of the series.” Karan Johar’s original high-school drama, Student of the Year (SOTY), launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra back in 2012. Seven years later, Student of the Year 2 (2019) hit the screens, introducing Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria to the film industry alongside Tiger Shroff. Now, four years on, the beloved high school franchise is gearing up for its third installment.
