Indian filmmaker Atlee, renowned for his award-winning work in the Tamil industry, made his Hindi directorial debut with the smash hit “Jawan,” collaborating for the first time with Shah Rukh Khan. The action thriller broke records and garnered widespread acclaim. At a recent event, Atlee hinted at plans for a sequel to the film.
Last year, filmmaker Atlee, also known as Arun Kumar, captivated Hindi audiences with his blockbuster “Jawan.” While Shah Rukh Khan’s star power certainly contributed to the film’s success, it was the combination of engaging storyline, thrilling action sequences, memorable songs, talented cast, and exceptional performances that propelled it to box office glory. At a recent function, Atlee shared insights into his upcoming projects.
When asked about the possibility of a sequel to “Jawan,” Atlee responded, “I’m not sure about it. But I’ll write something that will surprise you. Each film I make has the potential for a sequel, but I prefer to offer audiences fresh and unexpected content. So, I’ll come up with something new. Let’s wait and see.”
Regarding the prospect of collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan again, Atlee affirmed, “Absolutely, there’s no doubt about it. We will work together again. The timing, the project, and the specifics are entirely up to Shah Rukh sir.” He also shared his experience of working with SRK and the atmosphere on set, stating, “It was incredible. Shah Rukh sir is not only enjoyable to work with but also deeply invested emotionally. He is a visionary and extremely efficient. His profound knowledge of filmmaking makes him the cornerstone of my cinematic journey.”
On the professional front, Atlee has joined forces with Varun Dhawan for the first time in a film tentatively titled “VD 18,” which he will co-produce with Murad Khetani.
