Among the numerous Indian luminaries gracing the Cannes Film Festival this year are thespians Preity Zinta and Aditi Rao Hydari. Both luminaries made an ethereal appearance on the red carpet this past Friday. At the 77th iteration of the Cannes Film Festival, Preity Zinta chose a resplendent pearl-white gown, while Aditi Rao Hydari exuded elegance in a classic black and white ensemble.

A video showcasing Preity Zinta preparing for her red carpet moment surfaced on social media on Friday. The Dil Chahta Hai star dazzled in her shimmering pearl-white gown, capturing the moment in a playful boomerang video. Her hair was elegantly secured at the nape, and she adorned herself with exquisite pearl earrings.

Preity’s presence at Cannes is to honor her long-time confidant Santosh Sivan with the prestigious Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography accolade. For the uninitiated, Santosh Sivan was the cinematographer for Preity’s debut film, the romantic classic Dil Se (1998), directed by the renowned Mani Ratnam. Preity Zinta is now poised to make a grand return to the silver screen with Rajkumar Santoshi’s forthcoming historical epic, Lahore 1947.

This festival appearance is not Preity’s inaugural Cannes sojourn. She first made her Cannes debut in 2006, attending the premieres of Paris, Je T’aime and The Wind That Shakes the Barley. She returned to the prestigious festival in 2013 as the brand ambassador for the luxury watchmaker Chopard.

In the case of Aditi Rao Hydari, the stunning actress captivated the audience in her sophisticated black and white creation as she made her way down the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Numerous images and videos of Aditi striking poses for the paparazzi proliferated on social media following her mesmerizing red carpet appearance.

Aditi’s ensemble, a masterpiece by designer Gaurav Gupta, featured an off-the-shoulder black and white gown. She complemented her look with elegant rings and pearl earrings, her hair styled in a refined bun. Aditi Rao Hydari graced the film festival as an ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.
