Renowned Malayalam thespian, Lena, recognized for her roles in cinematic gems such as “Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal,” “Koottu,” and “Bhagavan,” astounded the public with the revelation of her union with Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair on the eve of Tuesday. Notably, he stands among the chosen cosmonauts for the forthcoming Indian Space Research Organisation’s Gaganyaan expedition. Lena divulged that the marital vows were exchanged with Prasanth on January 17 of this year.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially designated Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair as one of the aviators undergoing preparatory training for the imminent space mission. Lena, taking to Instagram, shared a glimpse of the official video, accompanied by snapshots from their conventional matrimonial rites. Both Lena and Prasanth adorned with floral necklaces, radiated joy in the midst of their kinsfolk.
Accompanying the visual content, Lena inscribed in the caption, “On the 27th of February 2024, our esteemed Prime Minister, Modi ji, bestowed the inaugural Indian Astronaut Wings upon Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot, Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. This is a momentous occasion, filling our nation, our Kerala state, and personally, me, with an overwhelming sense of pride.”
She shared her anticipation for this announcement, holding back news of her nuptials until now. “To adhere to the mandatory confidentiality, I awaited this declaration to inform you about my union with Prasanth on January 17, 2024, in a customary ceremony facilitated through an arranged alliance,” she further conveyed.
Besides Prasanth, the trio of aviators undergoing intensive training comprises Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander Subhanshu Shukla. Gaganyaan marks India’s inaugural foray into human space exploration, with the preparatory regimen set to unfold at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thumba, proximate to Thiruvananthapuram. ISRO aims to demonstrate human spaceflight to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in the immediate term, laying the groundwork for a sustainable Indian initiative in the realm of human space exploration in the foreseeable future.
