Global luminary Ram Charan marked another significant milestone on April 13 by being awarded an honorary doctorate from Vels University in Chennai. This esteemed recognition was granted during the institution’s convocation ceremony, where he played the role of chief guest.
Vels University holds a tradition of acknowledging distinguished figures from diverse fields, and Ram Charan was celebrated for his notable impact on the spheres of entertainment and entrepreneurship. Other illustrious individuals like Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and director Shankar have also been recipients of this prestigious accolade in previous years.
Joining Ram Charan in Vels University’s list of honored dignitaries are Dr. P Veeramuthuvel, the Project Coordinator for Chandrayaan, Dr. GSK Velu, the Founder and CMD of Trivitron Healthcare, and eminent table tennis player Achanta Sharath Kamal, recently recognized with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India.
Ram Charan’s admirers rejoiced at their idol receiving this honorable title, with effusive praise and congratulatory messages pouring in. Some devoted followers are already referring to him affectionately as ‘Dr. Ram Charan’.
Since his film debut in “Chirutha” in 2007, Ram Charan has built a reputation for delivering compelling performances across an array of cinematic projects. Over time, he has garnered an array of awards, including the Nandi Awards, Filmfare Awards, and South Indian International Movie Awards. His exceptional acting prowess even secured him a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Awards in the Best Actor category for his role in “RRR”.
On the professional front, Ram Charan is currently absorbed in shooting for “Game Changer,” directed by Shankar and featuring an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Sunil, Naveen Chandra, and Anjali. The film is expected to debut around Dasara in September, although an official announcement on the precise release date is yet to be made.
Moreover, Ram Charan has agreed to feature in an upcoming sports drama alongside Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, under the direction of Buchi Babu Sana, acclaimed for “Uppena.” This project, with music by the venerable composer AR Rahman, is set to begin production soon.
