Television luminary Gurucharan Singh, famed for his embodiment of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the acclaimed series “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” resurfaced at his domicile here after vanishing on April 22. His unforeseen reappearance allayed the apprehensions of his ardent admirers who had been voicing their worries about his sudden disappearance online.
Upon his return to the capital, Gurucharan was interrogated by the Delhi Police, and his deposition was documented in a local court. He disclosed that he had embarked on a spiritual sojourn, elucidating the reasons behind his absence to the authorities.
His disappearance had caused considerable angst for his kin, particularly his father, who lodged a report with the Delhi Police when Gurucharan did not return to Mumbai as anticipated.
During the inquiry, it came to light that Gurucharan had been managing numerous bank accounts and utilizing credit cards despite encountering financial adversities. Initially, friends and family conjectured that he might have retreated to the mountains in pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.
Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the president of the All Indian Cine Workers Association, implored the Delhi authorities to expedite their investigation. In a video communiqué, he conveyed solidarity with Gurucharan’s family and urged for prompt action to unravel the case.
Gurucharan garnered widespread acclaim through his role in “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” but departed from the show a few years ago. His abrupt disappearance elicited significant concern within the entertainment fraternity, prompting calls for a meticulous investigation and justice for his family.
