Hosted by actor Kamal Haasan, known for his illustrious career in Tamil cinema, Cuaron and Haasan convened for a luncheon. The get-together was orchestrated at Haasan’s professional quarters, yet his representative opted for discretion regarding further specifics.
A well-placed informant relayed that Kamal Haasan orchestrated a luxurious luncheon for Alfonso Cuaron at an upscale establishment in the city, subsequent to their initial encounter. Haasan is said to have given Cuaron a peek at his long-cherished magnum opus, Marudhanayagam. Posting images of their interaction on Instagram, Kamal Haasan remarked, “Had the pleasure of engaging with Mr. Alfonso Cuaron, a peer and disciple of the cinematic arts. We delved deep into discussions on cinema, with seasonal mangoes and notable members of the industry like Mr. Maniratnam, Mr. A.R. Rahman, Mr. Ravi K Chandran, Mr. Mahendran, Mr. Narayanan, Ms. Aditi Rao Hydari, Mr. Siddharth, and Ms. Amritha joining us.”
Ravi K Chandran, an eminent cinematographer presently collaborating with Haasan on the project Thug Life, shared images on social media expressing gratitude: “Appreciation to @ikamalhaasan for facilitating this remarkable chance to engage with and exchange ideas with Oscar winner and visionary director/cinematographer @alfonsocuaron.
