In the urban expanse of Hyderabad, Karan Johar unveiled the preview for the Hindi-language Amazon original series titled Love Storiyaan on Thursday. This documentary series delves into six poignant narratives of love that triumphed against formidable odds. Dharmatic Entertainment spearheads the production, with conceptualization credited to Somen Mishra, drawing inspiration from tales within the India Love Project. Love Storiyaan is poised to make its exclusive debut on Prime Video on the 14th of February, marking Valentine’s Day.
The trailer not only introduces the authentic couples but also provides a glimpse into their odyssey. Karan Johar extends an invitation to the audience to fathom the essence of love through genuine, heartfelt chronicles. Positioned as the quintessential Valentine’s Day spectacle, these films promise to captivate and immerse viewers in a mosaic of diverse, intricate love stories, urging them to perceive existence with a rejuvenated perspective. The unfolding events are portrayed through the lenses of six distinct directors in this multipart series: Akshay Indikar, Vivek Soni, Collin D’Cunha, Shazia Iqbal, and Archana Phadke.
Addressing the web show, Karan articulated, “The film transcends the mere recounting of authentic love sagas. It meticulously scrutinizes love in all its manifestations, crafting an exquisite tableau of relationships that transcend the ordinary. As a producer and director, I have had the privilege of narrating numerous love tales that have shaped the landscape of Indian cinema. However, what struck me about the India Love Project, our collaborators in story selection, was the authentic and distinct nature of each narrative.”
He elaborated, “These are veritable chronicles of individuals from diverse backgrounds who surmounted formidable obstacles to embrace genuine love. They demonstrated fortitude and resilience in overcoming barriers related to gender, culture, religion, and even conflict. This marks our inaugural endeavor to present authentic stories of real people to the audience.” Apoorva Mehta and Karan Johar stand as executive producers, contributing to the unfolding narrative.
