Embarking on a fresh odyssey, Yash ventures into his inaugural production, Toxic: A Fable For Grown Ups, under the helm of Geetu Mohandas. Renowned for his legendary portrayal as Rocky Bhai in KGF, Yash not only ensnares audiences but also emerges as a pivotal force in the Kannada cinematic realm. Partnering with Venkat K. Narayana’s KVN Productions, this endeavor underscores Yash’s commitment to spotlighting Karnataka’s film potential.
Electing to shoot Toxic in Karnataka constitutes a deliberate strategy by the creators. Typically, due to insufficient amenities, major productions tend to gravitate towards locations beyond the state borders. Acknowledging this predicament, Yash and the production troupe are resolute in reshaping this narrative. By establishing their headquarters in Karnataka, they aspire to surmount logistical impediments while simultaneously fostering employment opportunities for local talents.
“We have erected expansive sets, fostering numerous employment avenues for individuals at the grassroots level, including technicians and burgeoning talents within the state. Our endeavor is geared towards crafting a film with global resonance,” affirmed the producers.
The decision to anchor Toxic in Karnataka is a strategic maneuver. Although the project could have been executed elsewhere, the team’s decision underscores their commitment to bolstering the indigenous film fraternity.
“As producers, we had an array of options spanning across different locales in India and overseas. The film boasts a diverse ensemble comprising talents from various industries, including international luminaries. Establishing the ‘Toxic’ headquarters in Karnataka, prior to venturing into other locations for filming, underscores Yash and KVN’s proactive stance in showcasing the immense potential of our indigenous talents,” articulated the creators.
The unveiling of Toxic in December last year elicited fervent anticipation. Speculation abounds regarding the film’s premise, with conjectures hinting at a storyline revolving around an illicit narcotics syndicate operating within India’s coastal regions. Furthermore, discussions pertaining to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Shruti Haasan joining the cast have ignited fervor among aficionados.
Despite the buzz surrounding the project, the team remains reticent about divulging further particulars. However, one thing remains unequivocal: Toxic pledges to be a visual extravaganza, amalgamating Yash’s charismatic presence with an enthralling narrative and a stellar ensemble cast. The film is slated for release on April 10, 2025.
