Renowned cinematic maestro Mani Ratnam has unveiled his forthcoming venture, reuniting with the venerable thespian Kamal Haasan, signifying the rekindling of the Nayakan duo after a hiatus spanning 36 years. Christened as “Thug Life,” the commencement of the collaborative efforts between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam commenced a few fortnights ago in the cultural hub of Chennai, culminating in a triumphant initial shoot lasting five days. The squad’s subsequent agenda encompasses an expedition to Serbia, poised to commence approximately on the 28th or 29th of February.
Lately, Mani Ratnam was observed surveying locales in Serbia, adorned in winter attire, as depicted in the most recent images from the locale. Reports intimate that Kamal Haasan and other pivotal thespians, namely Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Dulquer Salman, are poised to partake in the shooting escapade in Serbia, prophesied to be an elaborate foreign sojourn.
“Thug Life” is heralded as a bygone-era spectacle, featuring Kamal Haasan in the titular role, flanked by Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Dulquer Salman, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Abhirami in pivotal capacities. Kamal Haasan is set to embody the character of Rengaraya Nayakar in “Thug Life,” with the initial glimpse of his portrayal already unveiled by the production. The auditory dimensions of the film are entrusted to the maestro AR Rahman, while the visual tapestry is under the meticulous craftsmanship of Ravi K. Chandran.
