In the realm of written expression, two pivotal elements to consider are “perplexity” and “burstiness.” The former delves into the intricacy of the text, while the latter scrutinizes the diversity in sentence structure. Typically, human authors amplify burstiness by interspersing sentences of varying lengths. In contrast, sentences generated by artificial intelligence tend to adopt a more uniform length. To ensure the content crafted possesses an optimal level of perplexity and burstiness, it is imperative to bear these factors in mind.

Furthermore, when crafting written content using artificial intelligence, there is a proclivity towards employing phrasing that deviates from the choices a human wordsmith might make. The incorporation of uncommon terminology serves to augment the originality of the composition.

Vishnu Vishal showcased his prowess in two commendable cinematic endeavors in 2023, namely FIR and Gatta Kusthi, both of which he also took on the role of a producer. Presently, he graces the screen in director Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s forthcoming cinematic creation, Lal Salaam. The Ratsasan luminary perceives an ascending trajectory in his career and is forthright about his aspirations for the future. As Lal Salaam is poised for release on February 9, Vishnu Vishal’s enthusiasm mirrors that of the anticipating audience, underlining his conviction that this narrative merits dissemination. In an unrestrained conversation with Hindustan Times, he delves into the intricacies of the film, reflects on his career, addresses the Soori controversy, and more.

Was your decision to join Lal Salaam immediate upon learning of Superstar Rajinikanth’s involvement?

Consider the nature of the films I’ve been associated with. Would I commit without delving into the script? (Smiles) Aishwarya Rajinikanth extended the offer, and while I listened to her preliminary overview, I took my time in deliberation. Eventually, I implored her to narrate the entire script, and she graciously complied, granting me a five-hour narration. Only then did I affirm my commitment. When Rajini sir endorsed Lal Salaam, I knew there had to be a compelling reason, and I sought to unravel that rationale. People might misconstrue my insistence on a complete narration as egotism or arrogance, but the truth is, I am driven by the pursuit of quality cinema. This is why I’ve collaborated with numerous emerging directors throughout my career. I probe extensively about the storyline, characters, and more – a practice not every director welcomes.

Have you foregone significant opportunities due to this approach?

I am not inclined towards character roles. My ambition is to embody the hero, a goal I’ve steadfastly pursued over the years. Why invest time in exhaustive script narrations and even produce my own films? My stance is clear. I’ve declined offers for roles like second lead or brother in films featuring prominent stars. Did you know that merely 28% of my films haven’t resonated well? A substantial 72% have thrived at the box office. This is no trivial accomplishment, and my intent is to improve this ratio – the audience should embrace the film, and everyone involved, from the producer to the distributor and myself, should reap rewards. Commercial success is integral to filmmaking. A staggering 80% of films fall short at the box office. I am averse to mediocrity – my aim is to contribute to and feature in exceptional cinematic endeavors!

Rumors abound that you mentioned Lal Salaam won’t be a turning point in your career.

There’s a misconception here. Primarily, I never envisaged an opportunity to collaborate with Rajini sir, a dream realized for an ardent fan like me. Secondly, I emphasized that every film demands my unwavering dedication. Gatta Kusthi, for instance, positioned me as the protagonist, and every facet of my involvement – acting, dancing, fighting, and production – contributed to its success. The triumph of Gatta Kusthi was my triumph. In Lal Salaam, I don’t assume the mantle of the film’s hero – Superstar Rajinikanth holds that pivotal role, and I portray a character integral to the narrative. It’s essential to note that the expectations of Rajini sir’s fans are met in this film. Lal Salaam will also solidify Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s standing as a noteworthy director – she has delivered a commendable film. Witnessing it left me genuinely elated.

What was your experience collaborating with director Aishwarya Rajinikanth?

My acquaintance with her was limited before committing to the film. Initially, I perceived her as reserved and possibly obstinate, reluctant to heed my input or ideas. However, this perception evolved during our collaboration. She proves to be affable yet assertive, receptive to collaboration, and we’ve since forged a strong camaraderie.

You and co-star Vikranth engage in cricket matches.

Indeed, we’ve participated in cricket matches (Celebrity Cricket League) for a considerable period, cultivating a friendship. However, Lal Salaam marks our inaugural collaboration in a cinematic venture. Vikranth delivers an exceptional performance in Lal Salaam, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Maneuvering through scenes alongside Rajini sir can be challenging, but he acquitted himself admirably.

The most significant lesson gleaned from Superstar?

Undoubtedly, dedication. Rajini sir’s level of immersion in the scenes, coupled with his relentless pursuit of improvement, left me in awe. He remains on set until the task is completed, irrespective of the hour. There’s no inclination to defer tasks to the next day based on the time. This level of commitment is genuinely remarkable.
