In an incident unfolding at a shopping emporium in Sector 53, YouTuber Elvish Yadav, accompanied by a cohort, allegedly perpetrated an assault on a content creator hailing from Delhi, as per the pronouncement by the police on Friday. A purported video capturing the purported assault has surfaced across social media platforms. The complainant, Sagar Thakur, a denizen of Delhi, additionally asserted that Yadav endeavored to jeopardize his spinal integrity and issued threats of lethal consequences.
Thakur, a content originator boasting a substantial following of 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube, 890,000 adherents on Instagram, and 250,000 followers on X, articulated in his grievance that he has shared a history with Yadav dating back to 2021. “Over the past few months, fan pages dedicated to Elvish have propagated negativity and ideological manipulation, causing me considerable distress,” remarked Thakur.
Detailing the incident, Thakur recounted that Yadav summoned him for a meeting on Friday under the guise of a discussion. “Upon arrival at the establishment, he and his inebriated entourage, comprising 8-10 individuals, initiated a physical assault and resorted to profane language. Elvish Yadav endeavored to inflict harm upon my spine with the intention of rendering me physically incapacitated. As a parting threat, he explicitly conveyed his intent to end my life, leaving me in a state of near unconsciousness post the ruthless beatings,” declared Thakur in his complaint.
The incident transpired approximately at 12:30 am on Friday, he added. In the aftermath of the complaint, an FIR was lodged against Yadav and his associates, invoking sections 147 (pertaining to riots), 149 (related to unlawful assembly), 323 (accusation of causing harm), and 506 (pertaining to criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at Sector 53 Police Station on Friday evening, as affirmed by the police. An ongoing investigation is being conducted into the matter, as disclosed by SHO Rajender Kumar.
