Nagaon: 137 wild animals together with six rhinos have died in Kaziranga Nationwide Park within the devastating floods in Assam. Authorities officers gave this data. In the meantime, park officers have managed to rescue 99 animals together with two rhino calves and two elephant calves.
Kaziranga Nationwide Park Area Director Sonali Ghosh mentioned that 104 hog deer, 6 rhinos and a couple of sambars died as a consequence of drowning in flood waters, whereas 2 hog deer died after being hit by a car, one otter (child) died as a consequence of different causes and 22 animals died whereas being cared for.
Sonali Ghosh mentioned that thus far we now have rescued 99 animals together with two rhinos, two elephants, 84 hog deer, 3 swamp deer, 2 sambars. Out of 233 camps within the park, 70 forest camps are nonetheless submerged in water.
