In the vicinity of New Delhi, an Apache rotorcraft belonging to the Indian Air Force executed an unscheduled landing in the elevated terrains of Ladakh, encountering detriment due to the undulatory landscape and the lofty elevation, as disclosed by the IAF on Thursday. The occurrence unfolded on Wednesday, with both aviators aboard being confirmed unharmed, as per the official statement.
The Indian Air Force has initiated a formal investigation, appointing a Court of Inquiry to delve into the matter. “An IAF Apache helicopter conducted a discretionary landing amid an operational exercise in Ladakh on the third day of April. Throughout the execution of this maneuver, it incurred damage attributable to the uneven topography and the considerable elevation,” was outlined in a concise communique by the IAF.
“The occupants of both the cockpit have been extricated and are in good condition, having been relocated to the closest airfield. An inquiry is now underway to elucidate the underlying cause,” the statement concluded.
