In Kolkata, a member of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) purportedly took his own life at Gate number 5 of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Thursday. During the routine proceedings at the airport in the early hours, the sharp report of a firearm caught the attention of the security personnel.

Upon the abrupt eruption of the sound, fellow CISF personnel hurried to the location and were met with the sight of their comrade sprawled amidst a crimson puddle. Swiftly, they conveyed him to a nearby private medical facility. Despite the expeditious transfer, his life ebbed away within the confines of the hospital.

The deceased, identified as C. Vishnu, aged 25, had been in service with the CISF since 2022, hailing originally from Telangana. The unfortunate incident precipitated an atmosphere of unease within the airport precincts.

Prompted by the distressing event, high-ranking officials from the CISF and law enforcement officers from the local jurisdiction promptly descended upon the scene. Presently, a meticulous inquiry is underway to ascertain the underlying cause that led to this tragic act of self-inflicted demise.
