In Jodhpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah retaliated against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on democracy, citing the actions of his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who incarcerated thousands and banned political factions during the Emergency era.

Addressing the ‘Loktantra Bachoa’ (preserve democracy) gathering organized by the INDIA bloc at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, Shah dismissed their collective efforts, asserting that only Modi would secure the prime ministerial position post-elections, regardless of the multitude of opposing parties. Emphasizing a stringent stance against corruption, the home minister assured that offenders would face legal consequences during his election rally in Jodhpur.

Shah expressed confidence in the populace’s endorsement of Narendra Modi for a third term as prime minister, prophesying India’s ascension to the world’s third-largest economy under his leadership. This retort follows the INDIA bloc’s call to defeat the BJP to safeguard democracy and constitutional integrity, decrying alleged electoral biases stemming from the government’s authoritative maneuvers.

Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of electoral malpractice and constitutional tampering by Prime Minister Narendra Modi elicited stern warnings of national jeopardy if such machinations prevailed. The focal point of the public address was the perceived onslaught on democratic norms, exemplified by purported misuse of state agencies targeting opposition figures, notably the apprehension of AAP chief Kejriwal and JMM leader Hemant Soren, coupled with income tax scrutinies directed at political entities.
