In a proclamation made by Mukesh Kumar Meena, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh, it was divulged on Monday that the discovery and safeguarding of three TDP polling agents, purportedly abducted in the precincts of Chittoor district, had been accomplished.
Per the announcement disseminated from the CEO’s bureau, the TDP representatives were seized from the confines of Bokaramanda village, situated within Sadum mandal of Chittoor district, encompassed by the jurisdiction of the Punganuru Assembly constituency.
Meena conveyed, “TDP district in-charge Jagan Mohan Raju voiced grievances asserting that TDP agents affiliated with polling stations 188, 189, and 199 had been waylaid by YSRCP functionaries en route to their designated polling stations.”
In response, district election authorities of Chittoor, in tandem with law enforcement entities, mounted a swift reaction, effectuating the liberation of the abducted agents from Pileru and subsequently facilitating their engagement in their electoral duties.
Moreover, Meena underscored an ongoing investigation aimed at ascertaining the identities of the perpetrators involved in the abductions.
Concurrently, the electoral landscape of Andhra Pradesh is animated today by the confluence of polls for 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly seats.
