The Minister for Union Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, conveyed on Monday that leaders of the Congress party are ensconced in a realm of delusion, their aspirations to triumph in elections built on deceit destined to crumble upon the revelation of poll outcomes on June 4.
The BJP luminary also directed pointed remarks towards Rahul Gandhi, a prominent figure within the Congress ranks, noting a departure from his own rallying cry of “fear not,” opting instead to hop from one electoral constituency to another, evincing apprehension over impending defeat in the parliamentary elections. “Initially absconding from Amethi to Wayanad, now vying in Rae Bareli, it’s evident that Congress faces imminent obliteration even in Rae Bareli,” he conveyed to PTI.
Thakur, presently contesting the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, asserted that the electorate of his constituency stands steadfast by his side, projecting a victory margin surpassing the previous mandate by a staggering four hundred thousand votes. A seasoned parliamentarian, Thakur exuded confidence in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) clinching over 400 seats.
Ratcheting up his critique of the opposition, the BJP stalwart accused the Congress of ceding swathes of Indian territory to foreign dominions during its six-decade rule. While the Congress acquiesced Katchatheevu Island to Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bolstered the nation’s military prowess over the past decade, he contended.
Thakur alleged the Congress manifesto bears the imprint of foreign influence. The encroachment crossed a critical threshold when their covetous gaze alighted upon ancestral estates bequeathed to progeny, with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge yet to provide a satisfactory elucidation on this matter, he maintained.
Expanding on his indictment, Thakur averred that Congress functionaries disseminate falsehoods alleging the BJP’s intent to abrogate reservation policies and tamper with the Constitution should they ascend to power. “Yet the populace discerns who invoked the emergency and instigated 62 revisions to the nation’s foundational document,” he remarked.
