In the realm of Itanagar, a remarkable feat has been achieved by Arunachal Pradesh, attaining complete saturation in the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative under the aegis of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by the Central government, as declared by Chief Minister Pema Khandu. This milestone places the state at the forefront in the Northeast and secures its position as the tenth state in the nation to reach full saturation under this government-sponsored program, according to an official from the state’s Public Health Engineering department.
A significant triumph in our united endeavors, Arunachal Pradesh proudly achieves a cent percent saturation of Har Ghar Jal under the Jal Jeevan Mission! This serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication and commitment exhibited by Team Arunachal in realizing the ambitious objectives they had set for themselves, as articulated by Khandu in a statement on Thursday.
Khandu conveyed that the financial allotment from the Central government for the scheme in the state amounted to Rs 3,965.41 crore, while the state’s contribution of Rs 455.51 crore played a crucial role in successfully completing the project. This ensured the provision of clean and secure piped water to every household. The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing guidance and steadfast support to Arunachal Pradesh in its pursuit of self-reliance.
Deep appreciation to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for steering and endorsing every initiative in constructing a self-sufficient Arunachal Pradesh. The substantial support of Rs 396541.22 lakh from the Centre and Rs 45551.18 lakh from the State has guaranteed access to clean and secure piped water for every household in our state, he articulated in another social media post.
“As the inaugural implementer of JJM in the Northeast, we are resolute in effecting a comprehensive enhancement in the quality of life for our populace. We are triumphing over adversities and challenges in our commitment to serving them. Team Arunachal stands tall and proud!” added the Chief Minister. Unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ is a centrally sponsored endeavor with the objective of delivering safe and sufficient drinking water through individual household tap connections to all rural households in India by 2024.
