Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, is slated to convene with the Aam Aadmi Party’s legislators in the nation’s capital come Sunday. This rendezvous marks his initial engagement with the legislative body subsequent to his release from Tihar Jail, following the Supreme Court’s decree granting him temporary reprieve until June 1.
Communicated via a post on the platform X, CM Arvind Kejriwal articulated, “At 11 am, there is an assembly of MLAs; at 1 pm, a press conference unfolds at the party headquarters, followed by a 4 pm Road Show at the New Delhi Lok Sabha – Moti Nagar, and culminating with a 6 pm Road Show at the West Delhi Lok Sabha – Uttam Nagar. Attendance is mandatory for all.”
In the interim, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti orchestrated the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ cyclathon within the metropolis. Promptly after his release, Kejriwal paid a visit to the Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place, Delhi, and led a procession through the city’s thoroughfares, accompanied by Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann.
Moreover, he conducted a media briefing at the party’s administrative center in Delhi on Saturday, lambasting the BJP. Kejriwal cast aspersions on the realization of ‘Modi’s promise,’ hinting at the imminent retirement of PM Modi as he approaches his 75th birthday in September of this year.
Simultaneously, Gopal Rai, a Delhi Minister and AAP luminary, opined that the BJP’s responses validate Kejriwal’s assertions. “The disclosures made by Arvind Kejriwal yesterday have precipitated discussions within the BJP ranks. PM Modi instituted the stipulation of retirement for senior party members upon reaching 75 years of age, a threshold he himself is nearing. The ensuing reactions from the BJP corroborate Kejriwal’s veracity,” Rai remarked.
Emphasizing the absence of ambiguity within the BJP regarding its leadership, Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed the continuity of PM Modi’s stewardship. Shah categorically stated that there shall be no shift in leadership, reaffirming Modi’s tenure through his third term, guiding both party and nation.
On Friday, the Supreme Court granted provisional bail to the Aam Aadmi Party’s convenor until June 1. However, under the conditions of his bail, the Delhi Chief Minister is prohibited from issuing any commentary on his involvement in the Delhi liquor scandal. In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, all seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi are scheduled to cast their ballots on May 25, marking the penultimate phase of the nationwide polling process.
